Hello sun
It's good to see you
And you're looking
Bright today
And I know
As bright as you are
So will I be
In my own way
Hello sky
It's good to see you
And you're looking
Clear today
And I know
As clear as you are
So will I be
In my own way
Hello tree
It's good to see you
And you're standing
Tall today
And I know
As tall as you stand
So will I stand
In my own way
Hello river
It's good to see you
And you're running
Strong today
And I know
Strong as you run
So will I run
In my own way
And you can sing
Any words that you want
Because this song
Is for you today
And I know
The words that you sing
So will I sing
In my own way

My Own Voice
03:31
|
|
||
I love the sound of my own voice
I love the sound of my voice
That doesn’t mean I can’t listen to yours
It means in the mirror is someone I love
My voice (my voice) all our voices now
My voice (my voice) all our voices now
My voice (my voice) all our voices now
My voice (my voice) all our voices now
Human beings sure make a lot of sound
Please can you show me your cow
Moooooooo
Sad cow? Moo
Happy cow? Moo
Confused cow? Moo
Surprised cow? Moo
I love the sound of my own song
I love the sound of my song
I know you wrote a song for me too
Listening, sharing, it’s what we do
My song (my song) we’re singing as one
My song (my song) we’re singing as one
My song (my song) we’re singing as one
My song (my song) we’re singing as one
Humans sing like rivers run
Come on now and show me some
Heeey (Heeey)
Oooh (Oooh)
Aaah(Aaah)
I love the sound of my heartbeat
I love the sound of my heart
And when I hear our voices meet
My heart starts to fly and I tap my feet
My heart (my heart) beating like a drum
My heart (my heart) beating like a drum
My heart (my heart) beating like a drum
My heart (my heart) beating like a drum
Now this song is almost done
We sing like the setting sun
Voices ringing through night
Your voice makes the world bright

Good News
02:43
|
|
||
The hills turn green in the gentle April rain
Dandelions beautify the sidewalk again
We’re learning how to sing together with devices off
And grandma showed me how to fix the hole in my sock
I gotta look up all the good news
Sing it loudly from the rooftops
Always remember that I get to choose
What I pay attention to
In summertime I cool off my body in the river
I keep watering my succulent I see it growing bigger
I’m learning how to call a friend when I’m lost in the night
The scrub jays and the robins still sing the morning light
I gotta look up all the good news
Sing it loudly from the rooftops
Always remember that I get to choose
What I pay attention to
Your focus (your focus)
What you notice (notice)
Will get louder (louder)
It’s your power (power)
Your focus (your focus)
What you notice (notice)
Will get louder (louder)
It’s your power (power)
My neighbor helped us shovel snow in the blizzard storm
Fresh water flows into our home where we are warm
We gave an extra jacket to somebody in the cold
Gratitude’s a practice it never can be sold
I gotta look up all the good news
Sing it loudly from the rooftops
Always remember that I get to choose
What I pay attention to
Hmmhmmhmmhmmhmm
Hmmmhmmhmmhmmhmm

Ponderosa Hermosa
03:29
|
|
||
I grow where the bright suns shines
Slow and steady yet I’m alive
I smell like vanilla sweet
I’m your ponderosa tree
My cones hold 75 seeds
I feed the finches, the chickadees
They have to peck through my spikey cones
I am generous, I share my home
Ponder-o, ponder-o, ponderosa
How you grow, how you grow. hermosa
Underground my roots reach far,
Growing as long as I am tall
In my woods find the mother tree
The oldest one gives me food to eat
Ponder-o, ponder-o, ponderosa
How you grow, how you grow, hermosa
Gentle giant watching over us
Gentle giant watching over us
My sap is a glowing gold
I live to be 500 or more
I can survive small wildfires
My life story will make you smile
I’m your shade from the desert day
I’m home for the squirrels and jays
I find water in the dry dry ground
And I wear a green majestic crown
Ponder-o, ponder-o, ponderosa
How you grow, how you grow, hermosa
Gentle giant watching over us
Gentle giant watching over us
Us

Reciprocity
03:25
|
|
||
I like to doodle, paint, sketch and scribble
I drew my castle a little too grey
I want some new paper so I can start over
Dad said "remember paper comes from trees,
There’s a easy way
To reduce waste and compromise
Use the other side
Cuz everything (everything)
I’ve ever seen (I’ve ever seen)
Comes from the earth (comes from the Earth)
Let’s keep her green (let’s keep her green)
We all can learn (we all can learn)
I do believe (I do believe)
To give on back in reciprocity
My favorite baseball cap no longer fits me
It would be so easy to throw it in the trash
But this hat could last another lifetime
Keep the sun out of a baby’s eyes
So I’ll make a pile
Of old stuff to pass along
And sing this song
Cuz everything (everything)
I’ve ever seen (I’ve ever seen)
Comes from the earth (comes from the Earth)
Let’s keep her green (let’s keep her green)
We all can learn (we all can learn)
I do believe (I do believe)
To give on back in reciprocity
These ideas ain’t so new
For native people this is tried and true
They teach us how to see
That this land is a gift, we’re together in this
Unbelievable mutual web of reciprocity
We’re in relationship with this blue planet
We always receive and can give back
Maybe I start a garden or check out farmer’s markets
Maybe I just clean up after snack
Or walk to school
Or make it cool to say thank you
It’s always true
That everything (everything)
I’ve ever seen (I’ve ever seen)
Comes from the earth (comes from the Earth)
Let’s keep her green (let’s keep her green)
We all can learn (we all can learn)
I do believe (I do believe)
To give on back in reciprocity

Newest Fruit
03:31
|
|
||
Today I get to be a kid
Yes I get to be me
I’m the newest fruit
On my family tree
My mom told me that
Grandpa would tap his feet to the dance hall beat
He would close his eyes, groove his whole body and smile
And I wonder
Did my great great grandma whistle while she washed the dishes
Did she wish upon a star? How did she live without a car
Today I get to be a kid
Yes I get to be me
I’m the newest fruit
On my family tree
My roots go way back
To an ancient family
Silent supporters
Are rootin’ for me
I imagine
One thousands years ago under star-filled skies
Familiar faces glowed in the firelight
In my imagination
They had no barbecue but just like me and you
They ate delicious food they knew that love is something we do
Today I get to be a kid
Yes I get to be me
I’m the newest fruit
On my family tree
My roots go way back
To an ancient family
Silent supporters
Are rootin’ for me
My ancestors were a lot like me, full of resilience living creatively
They solved problems by candlelight, now I’m here shining bright
Life can be hard to take, sometimes I’m not ok
Even when I feel alone, I’m loved by those who came before
Today I get to be a kid
Yes I get to be me
I’m the newest fruit
On my family tree
My roots go way back
To an ancient family
Silent supporters
Are rootin’ for me

Heart Weather
03:36
|
|
||
One of my friends won’t play with me
He’s with someone else, they seem happy
I’m standing alone, my heart hurts
Friendship is fun but it takes some work
There’s the weather of your heart
Let it have it’s day
There’s the weather of your heart
Let it have it’s day it's day
I had to switch schools, mom got a new job
Nobody knows me teacher said my name wrong
I miss my old friends I’m alone and afraid
I felt a little better when you asked me to play
There’s the weather of your heart
Let it have it’s day
There’s the weather of your heart
Let it have it’s day
There’s the weather of your heart
Let it have it’s day
There’s the weather of your heart
Let it have it’s day it's day
Sometimes it seems like the feelings in my heart won’t go away, away
But the sun needs the rain
And the blue sky cannot shine without the grey
No
No
No
Ooooh
Aaaah
My big brother drives me to school
Today he slept in, made me look like a fool
I walk in late, everyone looks at me
Thank goodness my buddy saved me a seat
There’s the weather of your heart
Let it have it’s day
There’s the weather of your heart
Let it have it’s day
And when you’re happy
Let it have it’s day
And when you’re bored
Let it have it’s day
And when you’re sad
Let it have it’s day
Or you're feeling wild
Let it have it’s day
Or feeling grumpy
Let it have it’s day
Or when you're loved
Let it have it’s day
When you're afraid
Let it have it’s day
Or excited
Let it have it’s day
Or feeling lonely
Let it have it’s day
Or frustrated
Let it have it’s day
When you're glad
Let it have it’s day

Beaver Believers
03:16
|
|
||
I am a round brown muddy ground salad-eating creature
I don’t hibernate I stay up late storing my family’s food for the winter
I’m kinda chubby, keeps me snuggy and I build my own shelter
I’m slow to walk but I swim like a shark I’m water’s favorite carpenter
I need some beaver (beaver) believers (believers)
To help me make my home
I help that water (water) sink deeper (deeper)
And I can’t do it alone
I got iron teeth, sharp as steel and yes I chop some trees down
But I always leave enough for you and let me tell you how I build now
I’m dedicated my pond is rated best for frogs and salmon
Warblers and bobcats, otters mink and muskrats, mergansers and heron
My home is meant for sharing
I need some beaver (beaver) believers (believers)
To help me make my home
I keep those wetlands (wetlands) greener (greener)
And I can’t do it alone
Ponds and bogs and marshes are what we beavers do best
People do not like it when we make a soggy mess
But the critters in the rivers need the homes we love to share
We can live together but you’ll have to be prepared
You can defend your favorite tree with sandy paint or fencing
You can recover your culvert with homegrown engineering
You could plant willow, aspen groves or a cottonwood tree
I’m looking for patient people planning for a greener century
I need some beaver (beaver) believers (believers)
To help me make my home
I help those fires (fires) slow down (slow down)
I keep those wetlands (wetlands) greener (greener)
I help that water (water) sink deeper (deeper)
And I can’t do it alone
No I can't do it alone

Blueberries & Cream

It's Easter morning, there's eggs on the floor
Eggs made of chocolate with a raspberry core
I ate a whole handful and three fluffy green peeps
It's noon and I'm already falling I'm falling I'm falling asleep
Yes I have to be careful with sneaky candy
So my favorite treat is blueberries blueberries blueberries and cream
Tonight I'm a tiger, my sister's a mouse
Halloween evening and all through the house
You'll find trick or treaters now stuck to the couch
We started with one piece and couldn't stop, couldn't stop filling our mouths
Yes I have to be careful with sneaky candy
So my favorite treat is blueberries blueberries blueberries and cream
Thanksgiving pumpkin pie, licking my plate
Hanukkah babka Christmas fudge cake
All this festive sweetness makes me hyper until
I crash and feel cranky until I eat sugar, oh sugar, oh sugar again
It's a familiar cycle, I need a plan
For dessert we've having blueberries blueberries blueberries and cream
Yes my favorite treat is blueberries blueberries blueberries and cream

Snow Caterpillar
03:24
|
|
||
Well I started rolling a snowball just cuz I can
There's no architecture, no bills, no plan
I'm an artist, a visionary, just a little man
Who wants to make something with his own two hands
Well rolling that first ball was surely a thrill
The second one just as much until
I realize I can't lift it maybe mommy will
No, I think it's gonna be a snow caterpillar
Biggest snow larvae the world has ever seen
Eight snowballs long as white as she is mean
And as the sun comes up she'll melt and begin to seem
Like a lumpy bumpy bug in a child's winters dream
Like a lumpy bumpy bug in a child's winters dream
Well the neighbor kids came out and asked if they could play
I started hesitating but my caterpillar gave me the courage to say
I need a bucket for a hat and sticks for antennae, please
We worked for several hours with hardly word
A snowball here and there and maybe a bird
And when the time had come we stood back to observe
Out marvelous maggot in all her splendor
Biggest snow larvae the world has ever seen
Eight snowballs long as white as she is mean
And as the sun comes up she'll melt and begin to seem
Like a lumpy bumpy bug in a child's winters dream
Like a lumpy bumpy bug in a child's winters dream
Well now we're all freezing, we go on inside
Mommy made a fire, daddy baked pie
I'm warm in my bed, she's under the sky
And I wonder
Will I dream of a snow butterfly?
Biggest snow larvae the world has ever seen
Eight snowballs long as white as she is mean
And as the sun comes up she'll melt and begin to seem
Like a lumpy bumpy bug in a child's winters dream
Like a lumpy bumpy bug in a child's winters dream
